Apple Juice

A farmer grows apples and squeezes them to obtain apple juice.

"This juice is perfect as Nature is perfect."

"Thank you God for blessing me with this wholesome and nourishing bounty."

Very proud of his apple juice and wanting to share it with as many people as possible he seeks to enter it into an apple juice competition.

But such a competition can not be found.

"I know!"

"I will enter it into an apple drink competition!"

"This divine juice will wow the judges and beat out the apple drinks, of that I am certain."

Unbeknownst to the farmer and despite both names containing apple, his apple juice had no place in an apple drink competition.

His juice won no awards.

The farmer was beside himself!

He couldn't believe it.

"How could this pure, ethereal, nectar of the Gods go unnoticed alongside mere artificial recreations?"

"To choose Man over God, no, to not even acknowledge the existence of God, have they no shame?"

"There must be some mistake."

Confused and disappointed he confronts the judges and after much argument and back and forth, the judges confide in the farmer and tell him the truth.

"Your apple juice truly was divine but unfortunately, to acknowledge this fact would imply apple drink is inferior."

"And to imply apple drink is inferior is to harm the apple drink industry which funds this competition."

"Harmed also are I and the other judges as we have spent years studying the ins and outs of the apple drink system."

"To acknowledge your juice is to render unnecessary an entire global enterprise and system of knowledge."

"It cannot be so."

The farmer, defeated, now understood and as he walked away the judge said one last thing to him.

"While I cannot award your juice, I will buy a bottle."
